Hello, I'm Soumedhik!
I work on natural language processing with a focus on low-resource languages and culturally aware systems. Right now, I'm pursuing my Master's in Natural Language Processing at MBZUAI. Alongside that, I build NLP models for linguistic diversity at the NLIP Lab, IIT Hyderabad, and develop retrieval pipelines with LLMs at the Center for Computational Data Science, IIT Kharagpur.
My research centers on making AI systems that understand language across cultures and resource constraints. I also work on scientific machine learning problems, including deep learning for cryo-electron tomography at Carnegie Mellon's Xu Lab.
Beyond research, I led AI engineering at Exalt Data and teach deep learning at Ramakrishna Mission. I'm passionate about science communication and making research accessible.
