Thousands of languages have no meaningful digital presence. Their speakers are excluded from search engines, translation tools, voice assistants, and the AI systems shaping our future. My work focuses on building NLP for low-resource languages and culturally aware AI, not just as a research problem, but as a matter of representation and access.
I believe this issue needs more visibility among researchers, engineers, and policymakers. The goal is to make language technology that works for everyone, not just the languages with the most data.
